Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has invited bids from developers to set up standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) for an aggregate storage capacity of 1,600 MWh (200 MW x 8 hours) in Gujarat.
The successful developers will set up the BESS, connected to the state grid, on a build-own-operate basis and offer energy storage facility to GUVNL for one-cycle charging/discharging operation per day on an ‘on demand’ basis.
GUVNL will enter into a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with the developers.
The minimum bid size is 400 MWh (50 MW x 8 hours) and in multiples of 50 MW/ 400 MWh thereafter.
