NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) Ltd has allocated standalone battery energy storage capacity of 500 MW/ 1000 MWh with viability gap funding support at an average price of INR 2.37 lakh ($2,824.46)/MW/month.
Indigrid secured 250 MW and Kintech Synergy 65 MW by quoting a winning price of INR 2.37 lakh/MW/month. HG Infra Engineering was allocated the balance 185 MW at INR 2.38 lakh/MW/month.
The winners will install battery energy storage systems with the primary objective of making these available to NVVN for two-cycle charging/discharging operation on an “on demand” basis.
NVVN will enter into a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with the successful bidders, to avail the energy storage facility.
