State-owned hydropower producer SJVN has concluded the auction for 1.2 GW of wind-solar hybrid capacity with a price of INR 3.19 ($0.038)/kWh.
Gentari Renewables secured the largest slice of 400 MW. Juniper Green and EG Energy won 300 MW each. Sunsure Energy secured 130 MW and Datta Infra 70 MW.
SJVN will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the winning developers for purchase of power for a period of 25 years. Power procured by SJVN from these projects will be sold to the different buying entities of India. The developers will set up projects on a build-own-operate basis. The projects can be located anywhere in India and must connectto the interstate transmission system (ISTS).
