NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, an arm of NTPC Green Energy Ltd, has announced that 55 MW out of its 105 MW Shajapur solar project (Unit-I) in Madhya Pradesh has started commercial operation.
NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd had won 105 MW capacity at INR 2.35/kWh and another 220 MW at INR 2.33/kWh in the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd’s auction for 450 MW of Solar Projects at Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. Power purchase agreements for these projects have been signed with Indian Railways, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Co. Ltd and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd.
In a separate development, NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Co. Ltd. (CSPGCL) to develop up to 2 GW of renewable energy projects including floating solar.
