Solidus Techno Power has started work on a 50 MWp ground-mounted solar project in Firozpur district of Punjab. The project, located in village Ghattianwali Jattan, is being developed by Bluesky NRG and executed by Solidus Techno Power as the EPC partner.

The project is expected to generate around 85 million units of clean energy annually, augmenting Punjab’s renewable energy portfolio. It will help offset an estimated 80,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Ohms Energy said it has installed a 300 kWp solar plant, built to withstand highly corrosive conditions, at Scottish Chemical Industries’ factory in Taloja, Maharashtra.

“Faced with the corrosive effects of chlorine gas a key raw material at Scottish Chemical’s factory traditional solar solutions fell short. Global solar companies could not offer durable solutions with standard warranties for such conditions. Ohms Energy teamed up with Spark Solar to design custom corrosion-resistant solar panels and frames, ensuring reliability and performance even in extreme environments,” said the company. “Ohms Energy identified challenges to develop a tailored approach. It installed a solar test plant for over a year to refine the solution.”

KLK Ventures has been awarded the letter of empanelment for the implementation of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems under Component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) scheme for the period of 2023-2025. “This empanelment authorizes KLK Ventures to deploy standalone solar water pumping systems with capacities ranging from 1 HP to 10 HP, enabling farmers [across Himachal Pradesh] to access an eco-friendly, cost-effective, and sustainable irrigation solution. The PM KUSUM scheme, launched by the Government of India, plays a pivotal role in advancing the renewable energy agenda, empowering farmers with clean energy solutions, and reducing their dependence on traditional, diesel-based systems,” said the company.
