Larsen & Toubro announced today its power transmission & distribution (PT&D) vertical has won new orders in India and the Middle East. It has won an order to implement advanced distribution management system in West Bengal. The system will make power distribution smarter by combining outage management system and distribution management system functionalities. Through real time monitoring and control of medium and low voltage networks, the reliability of the network will be enhanced with quick isolation of faults and faster restoration.
In Saudi Arabia, the company has secured an order for a key 380kV substation to facilitate evacuation of solar power generation. At a major city project in Kuwait, it has won a 400kV substation order. In Dubai (United Arab Emirates), the company has bagged orders for establishing a set of EHV substations which includes a 400/132kV Substation.
Hartek Group’s Power system business unit has secured a INR 117 crore project in Gujarat from Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd (PGCIL), India’s largest power distribution company. The project involves the extension of a 765kV AIS substation as well as 400/220kV substation work.
765kV substations are instrumental in enhancing India’s power transmission capacity, thereby aligning with the Central Electricity Authority’s (CEA) projections of substantial grid expansion in the coming years.
