Sineng Electric, a solar and energy storage solutions provider, announced it has provided central inverters for the solar component of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India’s 975 MW hybrid renewable energy project in Andhra Pradesh. It supplied 184 units of its 3.3 MW central inverter (EP-3300-HB-UD), delivering a cumulative capacity of 606 MW AC.
The 975 MW hybrid renewable energy system developed by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India includes 661 MW (925 MWp) of solar power and 314 MW of wind power components. The solar project powered by Sineng’s solutions has commenced commercial operations.
Sineng Electric’s EP-3300-HB-UD central inverters feature a maximum efficiency of up to 99%, advanced three-level topology technology, and a high DC/AC ratio, significantly enhancing energy yields and optimizing the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). These can deliver 3,300 kW without derating even in ambient temperatures up to 51ºC, demonstrating their resilience and adaptability to the region’s climatic conditions.
Sineng ensured timely delivery of equipment and provided comprehensive on-site engineering support for the project.
John Hu, general manager of Sineng Electric International Department, said, “Known for their efficiency, reliability, and compliance with India’s latest grid codes, our inverters are the perfect choice for large-scale solar installations. This project, which decarbonizes local steel production operations, illustrates how solar energy can drive a low-carbon future while fostering economic and environmental sustainability.”
