State-owned NTPC announced that its 300 MW Shambu ki Burj-2 (Kolayat) solar PV project in Bikaner district of Rajasthan is now fully operational.
The project was commissioned by NTPC arm NTPC Green Energy in a phased manner, with the final 18.32 MW portion recently going online. “The first part capacity of 150 MW, second part capacity of 98.78 MW and third part capacity of 32.90 MW were already declared on commercial operation on 29.09.2022, 30.09.2024 and 31.10.2024, respectively,” stated NTPC.
The 300MW Sambhu Ki Bhurj-II solar PV project has been developed under the second phase of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s CPSU Scheme. The project was won by NTPC though viability gap funding (VGF) based competitive bidding in an auction by Solar Energy Corp of India (SECI) in 2019. As per the conditions on the CPSU Scheme, the project is built with VGF from MNRE.
