State-owned power producer NTPC has concluded auction for 1.2 GW of interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-solar hybrid capacity at an average price of INR 3.35 ($0.039)/kWh.
State-owned coal miner NLC India won the largest slice of 450 MW by quoting the lowest price of INR 3.35/kWh. Other winners at this price include Enfinity Global’s EG Solwin Renewables (300 MW) and Welspun Renewable Energy (250 MW). Adani Renewable Energy secured the balance 200 MW at INR 3.36/kWh against the bid-out capacity of 600 MW.
The successful bidders will develop projects on a build-own-operate basis. The projects can be located anywhere in India and must connect to the interstate transmission grid.
