Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd has signed the battery energy storage sale agreement with Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) for a 125 MW/ 500 MWh grid-connected standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project to be developed by JSW Energy.
JSW Energy secured the project at a competitive bid of INR 4.41 lakh/MW/month in an auction by SECI.
JSW Energy will develop, operate and maintain the BESS in Kerala with the primary objective of making it available to KSEB for charging/discharging of the BESS on an on-demand basis.
The project is eligible for viability gap funding.
