BluPine Energy, a renewable energy services company in India, has announced the signing of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) for a 150 MW solar project backed with energy storage system (ESS) in the state of Rajasthan.
The project was won by BluPine Energy through competitive bidding in SECI’s tender to procure 2 GW of power generated from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects with 1 GW/4 GWh energy storage systems.
The developer’s special purpose vehicle Solarcraft Power India 17 will establish the project in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan.
“The PPA with SECI highlights our ability to pivot with agility as India’s renewable powered grids become resilient. Our 150 MW solar project with integrated energy storage in Rajasthan is designed to deliver firm and dispatchable clean power—addressing intermittency and enhancing grid stability,” said Neerav Nanavaty, CEO, BluPine Energy.
The Ministry of Power has mandated energy storage integration to resolve intermittency issues and provide critical support during peak demand hours, ensuring grid stability, reliability, and optimal energy utilization.
BluPine Energy was established in India by global investor Actis. Backed by an $800 million commitment from Actis’ Energy Fund 5, it is currently developing a clean energy portfolio of more than 4 GW across India.
