The string of fires that shook up South Korea’s booming energy storage market throughout 2018 brought development to a screeching halt this year. Throughout the lackluster first half of 2019, manufacturers, installers and analysts remained cautiously hopeful that a government investigation into the fires might plant the seed for late-year market growth. However, another outbreak of fires in the months since the conclusion of the probe has shaken industry morale once again, snuffing out any lingering hopes for a quick recovery.

Electric vehicle (EV) battery market will grow annually at 30%, growing almost six times to 28 GWh from 4.75 GWh in 2018. The EV infrastructure will grow at double the pace (60% annually), reaching 50,000 units from less than a thousand in 2018.

Launched in November 2015, the alliance aims to collectively address key challenges to the scaling up of solar energy in member countries that fall between Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. Ather Energy, an Indian electric scooter maker, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Tamil Nadu to open a new production facility for lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles.

The selected operator will also provide operation and maintenance support for the buses which shall be deployed in the cities of Guwahati, Silchar and Jorhat. Bidding closes on December 7.

The electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure will come up in South Delhi Municipal Corporation area over a 10-year period, starting with installation in 18 locations within 6 months from the effective date.

Under the partnership, Magenta will install its electric vehicle charging solution ChargeGrid Pro at Lodha Group’s real estate projects in Mumbai, delivering installation to charging support, round-the-clock service, and maintenance support.

Prospective developers have until November 18 to submit bids for standalone PV systems, with inverter and lead-acid batteries, at various government high schools, health sub-centres and Anganwadi Centres.
