GreenZo to offer green hydrogen solutions from electrolysis to storage

The Delhi-based renewable project consultant aims to expand electrolyzer production capacity to 1 GW after its initial 250 MW is operational. It is also looking at offering turnkey solutions for green hydrogen plants and the production of high-pressure tanks and cryogenic vessels for hydrogen storage.

Green ammonia, low-hanging fruit for India’s green hydrogen economy

A new report from IEEFA says green ammonia could help India significantly reduce its trillion-rupee fertilizer subsidy bill and cut dependence on liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports for fertilizer production. The report looks at leading green hydrogen to green ammonia projects worldwide and reviews the cost competitiveness of producing green ammonia using various electricity inputs – grid electricity, round-the-clock renewable power, and solar power plus batteries. It also looks at the policy interventions required for green hydrogen and ammonia projects.

National hydrogen policy, half a step forward

Green hydrogen cost in India could reduce by 20-30% to INR 230-240/kg with the measures announced under the National Hydrogen Policy. A further cost reduction to achieve parity with grey hydrogen by 2030 is possible, provided policymakers don’t overlook five critical areas.

Building the green hydrogen economy in India

Experts at a recent workshop by industry body India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A) and the government thinktank NITI Aayog proposed the formation of a public-private taskforce to develop gigawatt-scale green hydrogen hubs in India. The taskforce will have participation from global funding agencies, industry and government.

Ohmium to sponsor CSIR-CECRI research on advanced materials for electrolyzers

Ohmium has collaborated with India’s CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute as it aims to make green hydrogen not only cost-effective but also scalable to meet the world’s demand. The sponsorship enables it to leverage CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute’s deep expertise and resources for further development of electrolyzer technology.

Electrolyzer sales expected to quadruple this year globally

According to BloombergNEF, electrolyzer shipments may reach up to 2.5GW in 2022, up significantly from 458MW last year. China and the United States will become the world’s first and second markets, respectively.

L&T and Norway’s HydrogenPro to set up electrolyzer gigafab in India

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an Indian multinational EPC contractor, has partnered with Norway’s HydrogenPro to set up a joint venture in India for gigawatt-scale manufacturing of alkaline water electrolyzers.

Ohmium partners IIT Madras on PEM electrolyzer R&D

The USA-headquartered green hydrogen generator developer has entered into an R&D partnership with IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) to improve the performance and lower the cost of its polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyzers.
