India’s power minister said the government will create a large program for distributed renewable energy livelihoods, like rooftop solar and solar irrigation schemes.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is eager to ramp up deployment of solar-powered dryers, cold storage and charkhas across the nation’s 600,000 villages.
The CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur, which has expertise in the design and development of solar artifacts for multifaceted uses, and the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Gurugram, will conduct joint field studies for different solar technologies and work towards skill and capacity building.
The National Institute of Solar Energy has invited bids to fabricate, supply, install and commission 800 solar dryer cum space heating systems in Jammu and Kashmir. The systems will be installed in the Leh and Kargil regions in a phased manner. The deadline for bid submissions is May 24, with technical bids opening on May 27.
National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), an autonomous R&D institution of Ministry of New and Renewable (MNRE), has invited bids from technically and financially capable manufacturers to manufacture and deliver NISE designed and developed solar dryer cum space heating systems on pan India basis.
