New data released by IISD and Power for All finds that Indian government support for clean, decentralized renewable energy (DRE) access solutions is woefully lacking, and is less than 1%  compared to fossil fuel, centralized options. DRE solutions receive a negligible share of electricity subsidy in India.

Under the World Bank and IREDA’s $100 million proposals for solar park development, IREDA has approved its first loan of $33 million to Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) in Madhya Pradesh.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has announced 2 GW worth of grid-connected solar PV projects to be installed across India. Out of its 20 GW tender plan for the 2017-18 fiscal year, approximately 8 GW has already been tendered.

India is calling for a special meeting of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO’s) Dispute Settlement Body (DSB), to be held on February 9, to consider its request to resolve the disagreement between India and the U.S.

Delhi DISCOM, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) is planning to launch the Tata smart energy incubation hub.
