The Largest EV Charging Hub in the Country Powered by Local Innovation in Landmark Private – Public Collaborative Effort

Kolkata, West Bengal, India – April 9, 2025 – India, today marks a pivotal moment in its electric mobility journey with the unveiling of the development of the first ever EzEnergy Microgrid EV Charging Hub – the largest of its kind in the country and the second largest globally. This groundbreaking initiative is a strategic partnership between Andrew Yule & Company Ltd, one of India’s oldest and esteemed Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in operation since 1863, and EzUrja Pvt Ltd, a dynamic new-generation e-mobility service provider since 2019.

This state-of-the-art charging hub, located at Togami, Thakurpukur, Kolkata, spread over an area of 2 acres features 300 locally developed electric vehicle (EV) chargers, showcasing India’s growing self-reliance in EV technology. The EV chargers developed in-house have been meticulously designed for robust usage, achieving 80% localisation, aligning with the nation’s “Make in India” vision. EzUrja with its use of AI, IoT and customized CMS (Charging Management System) is at the forefront of transforming India’s EV Charging landscape.

The microgrid powering the hub shall ensure an eco-friendly and reliable energy supply that combines Solar, Wind & BESS for efficient EV charging and positively supplement the grid supply. Complementing the Indian vision to achieve Net Zero CO2 emissions by 2070, EzUrja is committed to a major leap in the green infrastructure by focusing on energy efficiencies, EVs and green technologies.
