With this certification, SmartHelio is now part of a community of over 4000+ businesses globally who have certified as B Corps. The recent investment from the world’s most renowned startup investor Y Combinator, has poised the company to become a disruptive technology for the clean tech industry. SmartHelio is one of the first deep-research companies who have developed clean energy intelligence services to make renewable energy infrastructure profitable and long-lasting. The company was founded in November 2019 in Lausanne, Switzerland, and now operates globally.
B Corporation is one of the most prestigious and rigorous impact certifications. The certification is awarded to for-profit companies with profitable revenue models that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance. To achieve B Corp Certification, companies must meet credible, comprehensive, transparent, and independent standards and earn a minimum audit score of 80 out of 200 possible points; SmartHelio achieved a B Impact Assessment score of 117. The rigorous assessment to obtain B Corp certification measured SmartHelio’s impact on Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. In order to maintain certification, the company will undergo verification every three years and demonstrate its positive impact with profitability.
