Birla Carbon has acquired Belgium’s carbon nanotube manufacturer Nanocyl as it looks to establish a leadership position in materials critical to lithium-ion battery performance.
PTC India Ltd will work with N-Side, Belgium, to develop a predictive solution for the Indian power markets.
John Cockerill will supply 28 units of 5 MW alkaline electrolyzers for use in the development of a green ammonia plant in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
Indian manufacturer Saatvik has joined Belgium-based PV Cycle’s recycling scheme for damaged solar modules.
Indian renewable energy developer Greenko Group has partnered with Belgium’s John Cockerill to develop a green hydrogen electrolyzer factory with a capacity of 2GW per annum. The partnership will also see the two companies jointly develop large-scale green hydrogen projects in India.
European research group Solliance says its perovskite modules have passed three key industry standard reliability tests: Light soaking, damp heat and thermal cycling. The group said it is the first time perovskite modules of that size have achieved such results and represents a milestone in the technology’s move toward commercialization.
Following a dip in the last fiscal year, the value of cell exports saw a massive surge to an estimated Rs133,000 lakh from April to November. Exports to the U.S. tripled during the eight-month period as shipments to Turkey and Belgium rebounded to become the next two biggest export markets.
The result was certified by the solar cells laboratory at the calibration and test center of Germany’s Institute for Solar Energy Research. Imec’s measurements showed cell bifaciality surpassed 80%.
A flying start to the year saw huge volumes of solar cells and modules imported to India but the scale and value of such products fell over the remainder of 2018 and export figures mirrored that trend.
Scientists at European solar research organization, Solliance have announced the achievement of 14.5% conversion efficiency on a perovskite module. The module uses a glass substrate, and the efficiency was measured on an aperture area of 144 cm².
