Trina Solar launches India’s first PV residential kit

Chinese PV manufacturer, Trina Solar today launched its TrinaHome product in New Delhi. It is India’s first solar residential home kit. While it is currently imported from China, the goal is to assemble it locally, in the coming months.

India’s first solar bike track corridor to open next March

India’s first solar bicycle track corridor, which is set to generate around 6 MW of clean power daily, is scheduled to be operational in March 2019. Covering 12 km, the corridor will stretch from Mubarka Chowk to Wazirabad in New Delhi’s Outer Ring Road.

ReNew Power acquires Ostro Energy in $1.54bn deal

According to the reports, Gurugram based developer ReNew Power Ventures has paid 40% in equity and the rest in debt for acquiring Actis LLP-backed Ostro Energy. With this acquisition, now ReNew Power’s combined renewable portfolio stands at 5.6 GW.

Delhi 2018-19 budget goes green

The Delhi government run by the Aam Aadmi Party has completed three years in the governance, and yesterday announced its budget for the financial year 2018-19. The government has announced India’s first ‘Green Budget’ – it has a 26 point program. With the green budget it is estimated that around 2.1 million tons of CO2 emissions will be reduced.
