Adani Solar partners KSL Cleantech for retail expansion to East and Northeast
The Indian solar manufacturer and EPC contractor has chosen KSL Cleantech as the channel partner for the retail distribution of its solar panels in the eastern and northeastern markets of India.
ADB to provide $563-million loan to improve electricity supply in Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya
Uttar Pradesh will get $430 million to upgrade distribution lines in rural areas and construct a parallel network of 11-kilovolt feeders spanning 17,000 km to separate electricity distribution between residential and agriculture consumers. The $132.8-million loan approved for Meghalaya will be used for the installation and upgradation of substations, distribution lines, etc.
Meghalaya tenders for 20 MW grid-connected solar
Global bids are invited to set up the solar capacity on a build-own-operate basis across two sites, each with around 10 MW. Bidding closes on December 17.

Viability gap funding approved for 1 GW solar projects in North East
The President of India has sanctioned implementation of viability gap funding for setting up of 1 GW grid-connected solar PV power projects in North Eastern states including Sikkim. The funding has been approved as a subset of the existing scheme for setting up of 5 GW grid connected solar PV power projects with viability gap funding under Batch IV Phase II of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.
